It's been great fishing this month on the days the weather has cooperated enough to get on the water. Offshore the blue water action has been great, on 12 and 14 hour trips we have been doing a mix of live bait fishing for Wahoo and High Speed Trolling. On the high speed we eliminate a lot of the bye catch but there is more downtime between the action, when those tiagras start signing though it is game on and all hands on deck. The fun part of the live bait fishing is your always doing something, catching fresh baits, tending lines, and you get far more bites catching Sharks, Sailfish, King Mackerel, Tuna, Snapper, and Wahoo. It's hard to beat when you get the right bite and that Wahoo is dumping line off the reel.
Inshore the Sheepshead, Redfish, and Trout have been biting pretty good, there has been dredging near the BAE Drydock and thats made the river pretty dirty depending on the tide. For me the bites been better during the incoming as that cleaner water comes into the river. The fishing in the ICW has been good, again finding clean water has been a key to success. As we move into March and water warms up expect the fishing to improve and the action to heat up in the creeks. Black Drum are trickling into the inlets and we should see the large breeding stock fish around over the next month. In the creeks and the ICE there are already some mullet moving around, it wont be long before our seasonal migration of predators arrive with the warming waters.

The first fish on Allen's new boat was a nice one! Fun day running the 46 Valhalla "Olive Mae"

Allen with a nice Trout from earlier this month.

Had a blast joining the Mayport Majesty family Scott, Oz, Mason, and Conner on the first Wahoo trip for Scott's 34' walk around. We found a couple of Wahoo on the troll then had a great time live baiting catching another Wahoo and a giant Sailfish.

Hoped to get Yogi offshore for some Wahoo action but the weatherman said no way so we switched it up and did a little Sheepshead fishing. Ended up being a great day with the biggest fish of the year so far on the boat. I lucked into an 8# to start then she topped me with a 9#, just a few days late for the El Cheapo.
